Welcome to the Website of Ruth Schriebman, Doctor of Psychology

This website is intended to offer meaningful information to anyone who is now in counseling or seeking to find a counselor.

What sets Dr. Ruth Schriebman apart is years of practical experience counseling people. Since earning her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 1999 from Antioch University, Dr. Ruth has helped hundreds of people from her comfortable office in the Riviera Village of Redondo Beach, California, just a few steps away from the white sand and blue Pacific.

Dr. Ruth holds several other degrees and professional certifications. In August 2012, her Doctoral Dissertation was accepted, and Ruth Schriebman graduated with Doctorate of Psychology  from Ryokan College in Los Angeles.  As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) since 2003, Dr. Schriebman has been providing counseling services to people from all over California.  Dr. Ruth also counsels  cancer patients and their families through the Cancer Support Community South Bay.

Unique among her contempories, in 2005 Dr. Ruth earned her certification in Thanatology, which is the Study of death, dying and bereavement. Dr. Ruth works closely with the surviving family members and has counseled many during their time of grief.

Dr. Schriebman offers counseling in the follows areas:

  • Grief and Bereavement

  • Critical and Chronic Illness

  • Support for Families of a Loved one who died by Suicide

  • Individual or Marriage and Family Counseling

  • Other Issues As Needs May Arise

If one word could describe how Dr. Ruth manages her practice that word would be ‘simplicity’. There is no souless Contact Form on this website, nor are there anonymous email links. Dr. Ruth makes appointments the old fashioned way — by telephone — personally herself. As Dr. Ruth says herself, “My style of therapy is to work with the patient as a team while navigating the therapeutic process." Dr. Ruth Schriebman has recently earned a Commendation from the County of Los Angeles for 25 years of service to the the People of Los Angeles County through the Cancer Support Community of South Bay.
